Being pro-active for me is one of my best abilities especially when it’s focused on the growth and the enrichment of my lifestyle. In order to keep my focus I need to write them down because if I don't - I will forget. So in furthering my education and professional development I have implemented the following pro-active steps:
- Joining and being active in a school club
- Attending Chamber of Commerce functions
- Market myself daily to everyone I speak with
- Align with people with the same interests
- Obtain certifications
- Stay informed with Globalization
- Become a mentor to the youth
- Volunteer your services to non-profits

I will take many pro-active steps to further my education and profressional development. I will manage my time by dedicating my weekends to studying and school work. I will continue my job search as I learn to try to find work in my field of study. I will strive for good grades so that I can join PTK and will also join another club at school; most likely the gaming club. I will study for certifications in my spare time to expand my knowlege and to make my resume more attractive. Simply showing up for class was a major issue for me during my first stint in college; I will not allow this to be a problem this go round. I will develop mutually advantageous relationships with other students to network and share ideas with. I will stay on top and ahead of my assignments so that I do not get bogged down and discouraged. I must terminate the procrastination monster! I have in the past been a victim of procrastination, but I will no longer allow it to happen. These are the steps I will take to further my education and professional development.

There are many proactive steps we can take to further our education and professional development. You should definitely join a school club, because it will allow you to combine brains with others who have your same interest and increase your own interest and enthusiasm. Getting as many certifications as you can while in school could be the deciding factor for an employer to hire you. Another proactive step you can take to further your education is to challenge as many classes as you can, as it can save you money and time, which are both very scare when you're a student in college. Learning to manage your time is crucial to your education, as well as your career beyond graduation. Proper time management will allow you to stay on top of schoolwork, housework, obligations, family and your social life (social life...what's that?). It is a good idea to determine the priorities in your life so you can focus on the things that will get you to graduation day and start your career after that. It may be that you are in a situation in which school is not a top priority right now and may have to be continued at a later point in your life. Another proactive step you can take is to learn more about skills and aspects of your career outside of your classroom, on your own time. You will be that much more knowledgable than other people who may be applying for the same position as you down the road, and it will also give you more confidence in your field. A weekly or term planner can help immensely by making it harder to be unprepared for a test or miss a homework assignment, as it is on paper right in front of you and you can see the whole picture with deadlines. I think learning a variety of skills within or related to your field of study. Sometimes employers are looking for someone who can be flexible with thier job responsibilites and who can do some additional tasks that aren't taught in your degree program.

In the pursuit of furthering my education and developing professionally, I must continue to be proactive and committed to secure success, have a well-rounded background, and strong foundation to build on. The first step of my being proactive is to be curious and ask questions, and then seek out the answers. Next, I believe thinking outside the box and coming up with new, fun ways to study and remember what has been learned inside and outside the class environment are guaranteed ways to step up to the next level in life. Obtaining a mentor, joining a club or three, and staying informed on worldly events by reading the newspaper are a couple other avenues for exhibiting initiative. Taking challenging school courses, using the CD’s that are within textbooks, and utilizing school resources such as the WAC/MAC, and speaking with Student Advisors and Career Services staff would surely help meet set goals. Earning my college degree and working to move up corporate ladder (and eventually own my own operation) are major undertakings sure to take time, energy, commitment, self motivation, and support. All in all, the financial and time investment I am making for my family and me to have many lighter, brighter tomorrows are worth every single penny and second needed.

In my opinion, it is a necessity to be pro-active not only in our educational and professional pursuits but life itself. With that said among the many steps I plan to incorporate in my pursuit of higher learning are joining one or more of the technical clubs. Staying focused on both short and long term goals will also be an area of importance. I also "plan" on averting procrastination while at the same time developing more efficient study skills. I also look to pursue the opportunity to talk to instructors and fellow students who have or are currently working in my chosen field because they hold a wealth of practical information about the "everyday" aspects of the industry. Networking will also be a step in my pro-active approach. The ability to maintain a positive "can do" attitude and surrounding myself with a like-minded support system will also be pro-active steps in my journey.

There are a lot of pro-active steps I can take to make sure I further education. One thing I can do is start keeping a daily calendar and mark when projects and homework are done. I am also going to become very active in sports and clubs to keep myself motivated to keep up the good work. Backing up my entire projects and making sure that I don’t loose them is a good idea also. Another thing is for me to come to class everyday and on time. If I miss class it’s very important that I get my homework so that I don’t fall behind in my classes. I want to do some hands on work in the field that I’m studying to put the things I learn to use. I need to get a lot of rest so when I’m in class I can pay attention and get the best out of my classes. Finally, I need to stay positive and keep striving to do my best in everything I do.

There are a lot of ways to take pro-active steps to further my education and development of my professional field.I will take advantage of the WAC/MAC Centers for help. I will meet all deadlines to any projects that are given to me. It would be nice to join a club that interests me. Joining a club will look great on a resume. I will continue to juggle school and work and focus on both things without anything or anyone distracting me. I will allows come to class and work on time. If you miss any days, it would jeopardize my learning experience and be behind on my work. I will not procrastinate on any HW or projects before it is due. I will take a lot of notes in class and try to do more work in class than at outside class.I will plan all my objectives and organize my life more. Finally, I will do my best to to get through college and find my professional career which is being a web designer.

Some steps I would take to further my success in my education and professional career are; to keep going to class, pay attention, do all my work, perfect my resume, clean up my image, and learn to speak with clean inunciated words. Also I would need to not procrastinate and stay on top of my time management keep good notes and learn every class. Doing this I think will further develop my steps to success.

A few pro-active steps I plan on taking to further my educational and professional development will be to make sure I set a certain time frame to study and stick to it. I will make sure I pay attention in class and do the work that is assigned to me. I will also not let my social life affect my school work or me getting to school on time. I plan on setting short-term and long-term goals and sticking to them and also making sure I am working towards them and evaluating the progress that I am making. I also plan on being active in the school clubs and taking advantage of the certifications they have here at ECPI.

My proactive steps to future my education and professional development is to attend class each and everyday trying not to miss a single bit of information. Asking questions and taking notes. Complete all assigned tasks and projects. Stay the entire time of the class. Set time to study when in and away from the school. When needed use the many resources that the school offers. Study with friends and fellow students. But the most important thing I can do is to do my best

There are a few pro-active steps that I can take to further my educational and professional development. The main step is time management. By limiting my time on other activities I used to engage in prior to starting school (gaming), I’ve opened up blocks of time that I can utilize for school assignments. Applying lessons learned in my classes to everyday activities also helps further comprehend what’s been learned.
To become more successful in my profession, I’ve been using what I’ve learned in my Computer Applications class to elaborate on what people in my office are doing wrong. Updating my resume has also been a step to be further successful in a new career if I choose to pursue other companies for employment.

Overall, I plan to become more organized, plan and manage tasks, utilize time with friends and family to it’s full potential, and reduce the urge to procrastinate… for the most part.
