Studying is an artform to me, and I am no artist. I normally don't study, not because I don't care, but because I do not know how! On most occasions, I feel that studying is not necessary. Although, I normally do not study, I WILL do so if I believe I truly need to review the material.
Active learning on the other hand I think is going to be one of my best tools while enrolled. I believe most of the things I learn, I do so by being actively engaged in a debate or topic discussed in a class. For the most part though I can learn just about anything just from listening to someone explain verbally what is being taught.
Professional development strategies are very important for a career oriented person, like myself. I think that my skills in the field are honed in for success and that they will help me to succeed in life and in getting the degree of my choice.
I will use a study method that I learned worked for me during my first college tour. I learn best by writing everything down and then typing it out on the screen. I will use the writing and math labs as often as I need to. I will read everything that is required for the class according to the syllabus and utilize my fellow students for their help.
I will use or abuse the career services department. Hopefully they will be able to get me ready for job interviews, my resume. I plan to use the internet, news paper, and magazines to find out what is needed in my career field. I’m going to the certifications that in hi demand and some that are not.
I plan on using a variation of active learning strategies to enable me in graduating ECPI as soon as possible. A few strategies that i am going to use are as follow: I plan on challenging as many courses as i can to save myself the time and money that i would be wasting if i were to take a class that i didn't need to. Another one is i am going to utilize the WAC and MAC if i need to. They are there for our, as students, success in areas where we may need assistance.
Some strategies that I hope to become more proficient in are studying and note taking. I have yet to master the art of taking notes... I don't know if it's that i don't need to or don't want to but i have never been successful at it. Hopefully that will change. And as far as studying goes... I've tried it a few times but become easily distracted by more entertaining things, like basketball games.
While I am at ECPI I will continue to use the study skills that I have developed over the years that are proven to work form me. I very all information giving to verify it is correct and I do all my own research. Since people can be wrong I believe that if my grade depends on it I want to make sure that my information is correct.
I also ask teaches many question to make sure we are on the same page. So that when I go to do the assignment I am 100% sure of what I am doing. Finally I relay on my note taking ability to help me past most of my course because I am able to take proper notes for myself to understand and be able to recall the information mentioned.
I am focused on mapping out what I need to study. To have the needed resources at hand,wether on line, libruary, or getting feed back from other classmates,or instructors in order to prepare myself.
My stratagies will be to plan well, study hard and not to fall behind with my responsibilites, and the promise that I made to myself with achieving the goal that I set for myself in life.
hey its me again the way i study is in my room while listening to some type of music. It depends on what i have to do work on as to what type of music i listen to. right now im listening to soft rock because this class is so quiet and i might hurt the speakers if i do anything else. My active learning skills are from writing something and helping someone else with theirs. I will do whatever is in my power to help anybody possible. My professional development is strictly business. Whatever i have to do i will get it done. In order for me to get my degree. Even if it takes taking off of work to get something done my degree is more important to me.
Good evening shipmates, its Chief "Q" again. I have to admit,
one of the hardest things for me to do is concentrate when it comes to studying. The biggest reason for that is because I don't really like to read books unless they are sports related. Every since my
High School years and my earlier days in the Navy, I had issues
because I did not use active learning strategies to my advantage.
After a few years in the Navy, and a few schools and courses, I have learned how to use active learning strategies for my benefits. I tend to focused more in class and
when I am reading a book. I have also learned how to listen more,
ask questions even if I think
they sound stupid, and finally I have motivation to succeed. I plan to use active learning strategies like the ones talked above in order to graduate with a very high GPA. I guess the older I have gotten, the wiser I have become!
I plan to exhibit exemplary study skills by dedicating two hours out of my day to studying and looking ahead of our class schedule. I believe that will help me to know what is ahead and fully understand everything that I need to learn. I have never been the type to study, but I now that I am in college, I know it will be the only way that I will make it through. I I have also involved my husband in my study activities so that he can help me make it fun to study. I want to stay positive about studying since I really don't like it.
I plan to exhibit examplary active learning and professional development strategy by always showing up and being ready to learn. When I need help, I will let someone know and find resources to help me. I will participate in discussions and ask questions to further understand the objectives. I also plan to network with others and hold study groups on the weekends for hard classes.
I already set aside the weekend as my study time to do homework
And revision of subjects that I need to spend time on getting aquainted
With.Researching the profession that Is going to be my future accupation,Is also
a very important task that I am willing to keep up with,I have always love to work
in the technological field.
