Stress Management In a paragraph or two, please discuss how you manage stress. After that, please make a list of ten or more new ways you might manage stress.
With stress I do differnt things. I used to scream and yell but now I take a minute, walk into another room and breathe. I stay organized so I don't get upset. I have a routine/schedule also. Other ways to relieve stress....take a hot bath or shower, walk the dog, call a friend, workout.
The best way for me to handle stress is to listen music real loud. And when i do that i like to say the words out loud so thats just like me shouting out loud. Also it depends on how stressed you are,if i really stressed i have to leave the house and go to my brother house and stay over there for a few days.Listen to music,Eat something,Walk it off, work out, watch a movie or T.v.,Get on the computer and put the headphones on,Talk on the phone to someone bout my problem,Make a beat,Go to a friends house. These are MY best ways of dealing with stress
I guess everyone has different sources of stress and different ways to deal with it. I only have a couple of things that get me stressed. The first thing that stresses me out is when my kids get hurt. You would think, going through the toddler era with constant bumps and bruises, I would be better at dealing with this. My boys are 12 and 8 years old, and I still can’t handle this. My way of dealing with it, is to walk away and let my wife handle the situation. The other thing that get’s me stressed out is, when I need to arrive someplace on-time, like when I need to catch a flight. I’m always the first one at the airport gate for a flight, that’s how I deal with this issue.
The way I manage stress is ignore most of the things that bother me. I just don't let things get to me. Lately, I have been really busy with remodeling my house. Having to help demolish and rebuild my house can be very demanding. Being on a time schedule, working all day and then going to school at night started to get to me. All I could do is go with the flow, and don't look back. Just make sure I made sometime to complete what was needed of me to pass my classes. I have since completed my remodeling so I can concentrate on my school work. So therefore my stress level has decreased much. Other new ways that I could handle stress is like JC said "just hit the reset button." I could take a break and relax, have a drink, take a shower and watch a movie, get a massage. I think these could really work, so maybe I will try them out the next time I get stressed.
I deal with stress by getting my self organized. I clean my house, office space, cars, etc... I will also go out and "hunt" for new items I need for my collection, the thrill of finding something new always relieves me of stress. I will also go take a break, maybe watch television/watch a movie, surf the web, or have a cigarette. Some other ways I might relieve stress in the future might be: walk my dog, read a book, workout, take a drive, go to dinner with my wife-although this might increase stress, go shopping, play golf, take some time off, and make sure I dedicate much needed time to my studies.
My stress management coping technique depends upon what the stress is and the circumstances under which it is happening. For instance, if I'm driving, especially here in the Hampton Roads area, there's only so much I can do. I have to suppress the urge to see just how sturdy the grill guard on my '96 Chevy truck is and how it would hold up in a planned collision with the #$@#!head in his rice burner with the four inch tailpipe pretending he's at Daytona. Just put 'em right in the wall! So instead of doing it, I imagine it and I relax and carry on towards my destination. Loud music helps at those times, especially Godsmack.
I don't think I get that much stressed out, but when I do I focus in other things I like to do and will keep my head away from the problems. I also look at the fact that if it is out of my hands I do not let it get to my head and stress me out. Other ways to relieve stress are: take a walk, listen to music, watch tv, call a friend, take a nap (if you can fall sleep)
To get rid of stress i usually do something that takes my mind off the problem. If I have a problem at home usually when I work I am not worried about it. If I have a tight deadline at work I don't worry about it when I am playing with my kids. Also I just got a hot tub and it is AWSOME
The older I get the better I deal with stress. I find that driving fast on back roads relaxes me. I also enjoy going to the Gun Range and shooting a couple of hundred rounds. Just being by myself in the garage working on my cars is enought to get me relaxed.
Stress... how do I deal with it?!? Normally, listen to really loud music. I also like to lift weights and get big... LoL no time to be small its time to get BIG! Often, if applicable, I like to abuse punching bags using my martial arts skills. Sometimes I meditate, order performance parts for my car, buy clothes, drive inordinately fast, talk to my family, and sometimes I might just take a nap! If the stress is great enough, I will walk away from it and blow off some steam just by walking it off.
When i deal with stress it depends on how stressed i am as to what i do about it. When i am really stressed i go in the back yard and punch a hole through something. If im not that stressed i will gon in my room pick up a bok or drown everything out with some rock music. Thats mainly what i do because i dont get that stressed out very easily.
I enjoy working in high stress environments. It keeps me busy and drives me to do more. I pride myself on being able to handle large amounts of stress because he it help me from being bored. When I have a lot that needs to be done I break it down by importance and urgency. By doing this I am able to put the most urgent work first and move down the list. Don’t get overwhelmed because when you do nothing gets done. So stay calm and cool since you can only do I task at a time…Unless you are me and able to multi-task many items.
I handle stress by crying it out. I am a very emotional person, so I just cry until I feel like I have gotten it all out. Once I have done that, then I will start trying to work on a solution. It works of rme because I can not keep things bottled up. When I am stressed, I am easily frustrated and I will turn VERY angry. So when I cry it helps me alot. I also like to go run until my legs get weak, if I have that at my convience. Many, people think I am weird because I will cry in front of people and no one will know why. I know there are other ways to deal with stress like talking to someone, taking a nice shower, listening to some soft music, going to the gym, and eatting. I have never tried to do anything else because crying really works great for me.
My biggest concern is with my stress factor within the work place. I beleive in helping people but do not like when people take advantage of me. I try to turn the other cheek but sometimes it does get the best of me. I stay to myself alot because I do not like to get hurt because people do take advantage of me.
I try to keep the stress level at a low in my life. I do need a great deal of help with that because I am a very high stung person. When I put my mind to something that I really want to improve on and things don't go well it really bothers me because I am a profectionist. I always look at all my faults, and I do beat myself up alot, expecially when I am by myself. I am to senitive and very high strung. 1-I am working on my on myself inside and out. 2-I do things to make me happy. 3-I make sure that I do work out in the early hours before work. 4-Take long walks with my dog and enjoys the nature that God has blessed with us. 5-My son and I have movie day's
How I manage stress. I have found that over the years stress management has become easier. First I don’t let the small things stress me out. I have found that if I play disc golf and throw as hard as possible I feel better. I may go for a walk in the dark, or just try and get away from the stressor. One: try to listen to the stressor Two: go for a run Three: play with my kids Four: play with the dog Five: clean my gun Six: go to the range more often Seven: go for a drive Eight: go fishing Nine: beat up a homeless person Ten: kick the dog
Stress to me was different depending on where I was stationed at or the priority of the job. For assistance, my last job on the USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70) was very stressful because of the type of environment (ship yard) and the amount of work that had to be done for over 3000 sailors. The way I dealt with stress at this command was to leave my office for 30 minutes and take a walk around the block. If I could not leave the office, I would just play my music and sing to it to relax. Now, my job prior to the ship was also stressful but it did not compare at all to the ship. The only reason it was stressful was because the high level of importance as a Manpower Analyst to the Pacific Fleet. Although the stress was minimal, a few of my fellow Chief’s use to run every day at lunch in order to be relaxed and stress free! As long as I don't start smoking or drinking to relieve stress, I am doing great!!!
Sometimes when i am stressed, i like to participate in sporting activities. My favorite sport to play is basketball. When i am on the court, i feel like i'm in my own little world.
I deal with stress,by focusing on things that does the opposite the effect. For instant,I would pick up my guitar and play,If I am not home where I would have access to the guitar, change my outlook on the situation in finding ways of defusing the cause of the problem without taking an animalistic approuch.
